Campaign Comparison Summary report graph displays 5 columns when 6 or more periods are defined

The Campaign Comparison Report (found in Campaigns, Funds, and Appeals Reports in The Raiser's Edge) can compare campaign results between as many as 8 report periods. However if the graph option is used on the report and there are 6 or 7 or 8 periods defined, only the first five periods appear in the graph.

We have evaluated this issue as a bug and we have determined it will not be addressed in the program in its current state.  In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers.

We would certainly recommend adding any program suggestions to our Ideas Community page . Our developers check here first when building program enhancements to see what our users are most interested in seeing implemented.

Alternate solution
Adjust the report to only allow for five reporting periods to display at a time.

  3. Enter 1/1/2000 in cell under Start Date on first row.
  4. Enter 12/31/2000 in cell under End Date on first row.
  5. Click Autofill Dates... in lower right.
  6. Ensure Enter number of periods says 8.

  9. Click on Graph tab.
  10. On Select Output, select Report and graph.
  11. Ensure Bar is highlighted below.
  12. Click Preview.
  13. Report preview will show 8 columns (report periods). However, graph at bottom (or next page) will show legend with only 5 bars (report periods) defined. For comparison, select an Appeal Comparison Summary or Fund Performance Summary and follow steps 2 - 12. The report and graph columns are the same number.
