The best way to prevent duplicate contact records from being created is by linking the constituent records before processing the transaction.
  1. Under the Constituent Linking section, locate the Linked Constituent box on the right side
  2. Place your cursor in the box and press F7 on your keyboard or click Find Constituent
  3. A new window will open with the available fields to search for
  4. If no results are returned, unmark one or more of the Search Field options, then click Find Now
  5. If a constituent is found:
    1. Select the constituent
    2. Click Link Constituent
    3. Select Choose Selected Constituent
    4. Mark or unmark the desired updates to Process
    5. Click Save and Close
  6. After the constituent is linked, process the transaction
