My credit card process didn't commit automatically

When using the Nightly Credit Card Processing for Recurring Gifts (added in release 4.8) or using an existing process, users may notice that the batch created by the card process does not commit automatically, although the checkbox for Automatically commit this batch and add these payment transactions to the database is checked.  Your batches may be sitting in Uncommitted batches.
Make sure the batch's workflow isn't preventing the batch from committing automatically:
  1. Click Revenue > batch entry
  2. Click Batch workflows
  3. Click the Enhanced Revenue Batch workflow (If your process uses a different work flow choose that batch workflow)
  4. Click the arrow next to the status that is marked as the initial status > click Edit
  5. Mark Allow batch to be committed when in this status
    1. You can also choose to mark Only allow commit when projected totals match batch totals if desired
  6. Click Save


If the above steps doesn't work try each of these steps to resolve the issue: 
  1. Go to Revenue > Batch Entry > Uncommitted Batches tab.
  2. Click on the uncommitted credit card batch.
  3. Confirm that the GL post date field is filled in.  If not, enter a GL Post date the same as the transaction date, save and close the batch, then click Commit.
  4. Confirm that a segment value is filled in. If not, enter a segment value associated with the correct designation, save and close the batch, then click Commit.
  5. Confirm that the projected amounts match the actual amounts.  If not, click update projected totals, save and close the batch, then click Commit.
  6. If none of these steps resolve, click Commit, then choose to Validate the batch before committing to see what error you receive.  Resolve the error, then Commit.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. From Revenue > EFT > Credit card processing
  2. Edit the process, and note that Automatically commit this batch and add these payment transactions to the database is checked.
  3. Run the process, ensuring that some cards are charged.
  4. From Revenue > Batch entry, note that the batch created by the recently run credit card process is Uncommitted.
