What are my choices when setting up Connect RE for the first time

Users have asked that they have a preview of the choices in Settings prior to implementing Connect RE for the first time.
Some of these choices can be amended in Settings after implementation, but others are only accessible on the first setup and cannot be revisited without resetting to factory settings.
This document is a overview of the Setup Pages that will appear during the setup of Connect RE.
These settings determine what data is transferred between ON Suite (Whipple Hill/Core) and Raiser's Edge.
Many of these settings are alterable in the "Settings" menu of Connect RE after implementation.

1. Parents
  • This section allows the user to set up the criteria for how Connect RE treats Parent data for import to RE.
  • When choosing the married couple option, make note to match the relationships that are currently in RE. IE if all males are constituents in RE, then choose to "Only add one person in the couple as a constituent" and choose Male. Vice versa if the constituents are Female in RE. However, if there is not a standard format, the only other option is to make BOTH parents constituents. This will add the non-constituent spouse as a Spouse in RE and will add a duplicate relationship into the record.
  • It is important to note that when choosing the relationship types that are being translated (IE Female parent = Mother), if the chosen relationship types do not match the types currently used in RE, a duplicate relationship record will be created with the chosen type.
  • In the constituent code section, once any other choice than "Blank" is selected, we are unable to choose "Blank" again. Meaning: there will always be a Constituent code assigned unless the settings are reset to factory settings.

2. Students
  • In the constituent code section, once any other choice than "Blank" is selected, we are unable to choose "Blank" again. Meaning: there will always be a Constituent code assigned unless the settings are reset to factory settings.
  • Choose to add current students as either constituents or non-constituents. Make sure that this matches the format already in place in RE

3. Employees
  • In the constituent code section, once any other choice than "Blank" is selected, we are unable to choose "Blank" again. Meaning: there will always be a Constituent code assigned unless the settings are reset to factory settings.
  • Choose which types of employees to transport data into RE. If the employee type is not chosen, data will not be pulled to update RE.

4. Addresses
  • Address types chosen list will not be alterable after this point
  • Choose the address types that you wish to be added to the shuttle

5. Data Scrubbing
  • Data scrubbing will "Clean" the data coming from the ON Suite products.
  • Checking the box to clean will adjust the way the data flows into RE. (Example Doctor will transfer as Dr.)
  • Leaving the boxes unchecked will allow data to flow as entered into ON
