The following locations always default to the first term the course is offered:

Faculty persona > Classes menu
When a teacher views a class from their Classes menu, they always see the current term. Even if the teacher of the class goes to Browse Groups, they too will default to the first term the class is offered.

Faculty persona > Classes menu > View Other Classes
Faculty persona > Groups > Find More
Both of these take you to the My Groups tab which automatically displays the current term's classes.

Faculty persona > Classes > View Other Classes > Browse Groups
Faculty persona > Groups > Find More > Browse Groups

Here, there is the option to only filter by each school year. There is no option to select the current term. So, this view always defaults to the first term the course is offered.

onCampus > Group Finder
The onCampus Group Finder always defaults to the current term. Only the current term's classes display here.
