Quantity Sold is incorrect for Merchandise Sales Report - when an item was refunded

The QTY Sold column on the Merchandise Sales Report may decrease when an item is refunded (partially or fully), even if the item was not returned to inventory. 
This issue has been resolved. If you experience this error, please chat with support to provide the exact steps that were taken.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Go to Sales > Daily Sales
  2. Sell a merchandise item
  3. Go to Sales > Merchandise Sales Report
  4. Run the report for today and note Qty Sold = 1 for the item
  5. Go to Sales > Refunds
  6. Find the merchandise order
  7. Refund $1 of the item
  8. Click No, do not return the item to inventory
  9. Go to Sales > Merchandise Sales Report
  10. Rerun the report
  11. Note that the Qty Sold = 0
