When we view the HTML for our pages, we see rel=canonical links. Why are they there?
The rel=canonical links are automatically added to any level-1 menu page that is set to open to its first level-2 child page automatically. This is done so that search engines will know that that the level-1 page is actually a duplicate of the level-2 page, and the search engine will only index the level-2 page. These tags are integral to the site.
