How to track items purchased at an auction

If a person donates an item for an auction, this item needs to be entered as an In Kind transaction. Once the auction item is purchased at the auction, the transaction can be entered as a donation. Donations made through auction purchases can be tracked as gifts in eTapestry, but may include a nondeductible amount to account for the value of the item.

First, we’ll add a gift in kind for the person who donates the gift (if applicable)
  1. Click Accounts
  2. Click Find an Account
  3. Search for and click on the donor’s name
  4. Click Journal
  5. Click the blue Add button
  6. Enter the date
  7. Select the Fund
  8. Below the Gift Types heading, select Gift In Kind from the drop down menu
