Error: We couldn't connect to the data source. Please check your logon information. Here's the error message we got: The remote server retunred an error: (401) Unauthorized - when using odata

When trying to use the Odata link in the Microsoft Excel 2013 you may receive the following error message:

We couldn't connect to the data source. Please check your logon information. Here's the error message we got: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

After selecting okay on this message, you then receive this error message:

Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source.
This error message may occurr when outputting Attribute category names that begin with a number in the query you are using for Odata. This is outlined in the following article by Microsoft: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg264773.aspx

If you're receiving this error message after the Altru 4.98 Upgrade that include Single Sign On and your query does not use Attributes this may be related to a different issue that our products team is currently evaluating. We will update this article when we have more information. In the meantime try using your old Altru credentials to access your OData connection:

Username: Blackbaudhost\(Old Altru username) without the parenthesis
Password: Old Altru Password

Steps to Duplicate

1. Go to Analysis > Information Library > search the affected query 
2. Select the arrows to the left of the query name > select get odata link > copy the link
3. Open a blank Microsoft Excel > select the data tab
4. Select From Other sources > From OData feed
5. Paste the link in the location of the data feed
6. Enter the log on credentials
7. Select Next > Receive error message
