Error: A field was specified that does not exist in the form definition: 'SPOUSE_RELATIONSHIPTYPECODEIDSIMPLELIST'. - when importing into ResearchPoint using the Constituent Update Batch

Some users experience this import exception when importing records into ResearchPoint using the Constituent Update Batch template:

Error: A field was specified that does not exist in the form definition: 'SPOUSE_RELATIONSHIPTYPECODEIDSIMPLELIST'. A field was specified that does not exist in the form definition: 'SPOUSE_RECIPROCALTYPECODEIDSIMPLELIST'
Follow these steps to resolve the error:
  1. In ResearchPoint, go to Administration > Batch > Batch Entry > Batch Templates
  2. Edit the Constituent Update Batch
  3. On the Select fields and defaults tab add the Spouse Relationship Type and Spouse Reciprocal Type fields to the selected fields
  4. Save the Batch template
  5. Go to Administration > Import > Add
  6. Create a new import process using the Constituent Update Batch 
  7. Proceed with importing the records

Steps to Duplicate

1) Use an import file that includes the fields: Spouse First Name, Spouse Last Name, Spouse Relationship Type, Spouse Reciprocal Type
2) Log into ResearchPoint database
3) Go to Administration > Batch entry > Batch Templates
4) Edit the Constituent Update Batch
5) Make sure the template includes all fields from your import file EXCEPT Spouse Relationship Type and Spouse Reciprocal Type
6) Save the batch
7) Go to Administration > Import > Add
8) Create a new import process using the Constituent Update Batch
9) Map the fields -- note that the Spouse Relationship Type and Spouse Reciprocal Type fields are available for mapping even though they are not included in the batch template
10) Save the import and start the process
