Blackbaud NetCommunity 7.0 plugin Installer is flagged as malware by Microsoft Security Essentials

When attempting to download or install the Blackbaud NetCommunity 7.0 plugin installer, Microsoft Security Essentials may flag the installer as malware, preventing the successful installation of the plugin, with the following message:

The following error occurred: Error code 0x80070005. Access is denied. 
Category: Trojan
Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.
Recommended action: Remove this software immediately.
Microsoft released an updated version of their virus/malware definitions on June 22, 2016. Version 1.223.2382.0 contains an update that will allow for the successful download and installation of the plugin file.
