How to track anonymous donations on a DIY Form

A donor may wish to remain anonymous when making a donation, signing up for a membership, or purchasing tickets to an event using your DIY Form. While we still need to record the donor’s contact info, we can create a User Defined Field for the page that will allow the donor to indicate that he/she would like to remain anonymous.
First, we’ll create a User Defined Field for the anonymous donations
  1. Click Management
  2. Select User-Defined Fields under Database Configuration
  3. Select the Category you want to save this new User-Defined Field in
  4. Select New Defined Field
  5. Name the Field DIY Anonymous Donation
  6. Select Text as your Data Type
  7. Click Next
  8. Select Transactions as your field application (do not check off any other boxes)
  9. Click Next
  10. Do not mark the options on this page
  11. Click Next
  12. Select Selection From a Set of Values as your Display Type
  13. Click Next
  14. In the Add Value tile, type “I would like to be recognized anonymously” (please note that you can change this wording)
  15. Click Save and Finish

Then, we’ll add this field to the page
  1. Click Management
  2. Click DIY Forms
  3. Click the blue Edit button next to the form you’d like to add this field to
  4. Click Add Items
  5. Click Add Fields
  6. Select the category where you stored the field from the drop down menu
  7. Click the blue DIY Anonymous Donation link
  8. Click Update
  9. Click Go Live
When the donor marks this field on the DIY page, the field will then be marked on this entry in their Journal page:
