Luminate Online will automatically match constituents to built-in congressional district groups by using their zip code. However, many zip codes overlap multiple districts. If a constituent's zip code overlaps multiple districts, Luminate Online will then rely on a combination of street address, city, and state to determine the district that constituent resides in. If this additional information is not contained on a constituent's record, Luminate Online will be unable to place the record into a district group.

This works similarly to the Find My Representatives search on the United States House of Representatives website. If your zip code only falls into one district, it will pull your representative immediately. However, if your zip code falls into two or more districts it will ask for your 4 zip code extension or for your street address, city, and state.
