There are two ways to change the Employee ID:

1. In Payroll go to Configuration
2. Select Business Rules
3. Go to Employee General
4. Un-check box Prevent entry in Employee ID field

or

1. In Payroll Delete the Employee
2. Go to Configuration and select Business Rules
3. Go to Employee General 
4. Insert the desired number in the Automatically generate Employee IDs starting with : ____ 
5. Go back to Records and select Employees
6. Add a New Employee
*Note the Employee ID field is not completed till the Employee Record is saved
