When creating the redirect, we have two columns; Request column and the Destination column.

When adding the URL in the Request column, make sure that the address does not include the domain name. For example, a correct URL in this column would be:
  • /pages/events/roller-skating or /events/roller-skating/index.htm
When adding the URL in the Destination column, make sure that the address is the full URL, including the domain name. A correct URL in this column would be:
This example takes the address of http://www.example.com/pages/events/roller-skating and redirects us to http://www.example.com/events/roller-skating.

Confirm the redirect is added
  1. Navigate to Settings>301 Redirects
  2. Search for the URL of the page you are expecting to redirect
  3. Confirm the URL's to match the criteria of which page should redirect to the other
    • If the URL is not here, add a new redirect
    • If the URL is not here, but it is not saving, continue to the next steps
    • If the URL is here, but not working, delete the redirect and click Save. Add the redirect back and click Save.
Browser/Cache behavior
  • Test the URL within another browser
  • Test the URL on a mobile device, not connected to your organization's wifi
    • If the redirect works in another browser or on a mobile device not connected to wifi, this indicates an environment issue. You may consider clearing your cache (CTRL + Shift + Delete) or working with your IT department.
If the URL is not saving
Usually, if the URL is not saving it is because it already exists.
  1. Navigate to Settings>301 Redirects
  2. Search for the original url
    • If the URL already exists, you do not need to create a new one
    • If the URL does not exist, but is not saving, continue to the next steps below
    • If the URL exists, but is not working, continue to the next steps
