Spouse relationship link broken in Connect RE when last names do not match

When processing new constituent records in Core to existing records in Raiser's Edge the relationship link can be broken when the last name in Core does not match the existing record name in Raiser's Edge. This can occur if the spouse or relationship record has a different last name of a hyphenated last name.

NOTE: There is no option to link non-constituent relationships in the Connect RE integration. Record linking and matching is performed for full records between RE and the "ON" products.
The search algorithm in the Connect RE integration will be updated in the November 2016 release of Connect RE. When finding potential matches, the integration now considers users with hyphenated names in one database but a non-hyphenated name in the other database, as potential matches. This makes it easier to link and match records of constituents with hyphenated names..

If users are still impacted by this issue please navigate to the Advanced setup settings in Connect RE to verify the version number. If you are lower than version 1.1.16301.2 please contact support for further troubleshooting.

Steps to Duplicate

1. Create an individual record in Raiser's Edge with a spouse relationship with the same last name, i.e. John Smith and Mary Smith
2. Navigate to Core and create corresponding records with a different spousal last name, i.e. John Smith and Mary Gordon-Smith
3. Assign a role to John Smith to allow the record to flow through the Connect RE integration
4. Navigate to Connect RE and link John Smith's Core record to existing Raiser's Edge record
5. Note there is not option to link the spouse and the duplicate criteria did not match the existing RE relationship to the Core relationship.
