After a user has registered for an event, completed a membership form, or filled out any other type of non-donation transactional form and opted to make an additional donation, the gift arrives in the NetCommunity plugin indicating the correct amount for the total purchase. In some cases, the additional donation amount may not be charged to the merchant account.
Download and install the latest patch which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.
NetCommunity 7.1 SP4 has introduced the ability to divide these transactions. By enabling this feature, instead of one transaction, you would get an event registration transaction and a donation transaction.
This settings must be enabled in NetCommunity under Administration > Sites & settings.
1. Log into NetCommunity as an site administrator. 2. Go to Administrator > Sites & settings. 3. You should be on the 'Settings' tab. 4. Click the 'General' sub-tab. 5. You will see an option for "Event Registration Settings". 6. Select this option to separate any additional donations included as part of Event Registrations into a Donation Transaction. 7. Save.
Any Event Registrations with additional donations submitted after this option is selected will be downloaded to the Blackbaud NetCommunity plugin in The Raiser's Edge as two separate transactions - an Event Registration Transaction and a Donation transaction.
