I save and run the launch.ica file but the program never starts - when using Google Chrome with Blackbaud Hosting Services

When using the Google Chrome web browser, you may be prompted to save as a launch file in a new window that shows your downloads. When you then press save you may receive this message: Confirm Save As: Launch.ica already exists. Do you want to replace it?    

The launch.ica file is a Citrix file used by Citrix Receiver to open Hosted applications. Your computer runs the file after it is downloaded to your computer.  The Launch.ica will then delete itself after the application is closed.  If the program is closed unexpectedly, the launch.ica file is not deleted.  Over time, copies of that file may begin to build up in your downloads folder. Once this number reaches 100 Windows will no longer create a copy of the file and you will be asked, in a new window, to overwrite one of the 100 Launch.ica files.
To prevent being prompted to Save your Launch file each time follow these steps:
  1. Go to the downloads folder for your computer.
  2. Delete all 100 Launch files from your downloads folder.
    1. Click the top Launch(#) file in your downloads list so that it is highlighted.
    2. Click the Launch(#) file at the bottom of that list while holding Shift to highlight all Launch files.
    3. Right click the highlighted files and Delete.
Note: Single clicking on the application Icons and waiting for them to load before opening an additional application will help prevent these files from building up in your downloads folder.
