Error: to render the favicon image correctly in all browsers you must select and ico image - when uploading a favicon .ico image to a BBNC site

When uploading a favicon to your Blackbaud Netcommunity site the following error may occur "to render the favicon image correctly in all browsers you must select and ico image" even though you are uploading a proper .ico image to your site.  
This has been reported by users who are using Google Chrome on a Mac.  This does not happen for all users uploading favicons on Macs but may occur.  Follow the below steps to resolve this.  
  1. Log into Blackbaud Netcommunity on a web browser other than Google Chrome, such as: Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 
  2. Follow the standard steps to add a fav icon as indicated in this article How to add logo to the browser tab (Favicon) for Blackbaud NetCommunity Website Pages
