Step 1: Build a Query to find Renewal Transactions
The first step is to isolate the memberships you'd like to report on. You can build a query of all membership transactions.
  1. Go to Analysis > Information Library
  2. Click Add a new ad-hoc query
  3. Select the source view of Memberships and click OK.
  4. From the left column, highlight Membership Transaction. From the middle column, drag Transaction Date to Include Records Where. Set this to be equal to or between the date range you're looking for.
  5. Also from the middle column, drag Action to Include Records Where. Set this to be equal to the actions you're looking for. For example, if you'd like to only view renewal transactions, set this to be one of: Renew, Rejoin, Downgrade, or Upgrade.
  6. On the Set Save Options Tab, name your query.
  7. Under Options for using this query, check the box to Save as a Selection.
Step 2: Build an Export Definition
The next step is to build an export definition to tell Altru what information you'd like to export from these memberships. In this case, we need to export information like expiration date from the last two membership transactions on the membership.
  1. Go to Administration > Export Definitions
  2. Click Add to add a new export definition
  3. Select the source view of Memberships and click OK.
  4. To find the last two membership transactions, from the left column, highlight Membership transaction. From the middle column, drag Transaction Date (date only) to Selected fields.
  5. An export criteria window will pop. In this window, we can specify we'd like to export the last two membership transactions. Under "For each record in the memberships node, enter the number of related records from the membership transaction node to export" choose 2 as the Number to export. User-added image
  6.  Next, under Sort, choose to Order by: Transaction date (date only) by Descending. This will give you the two most recent transactions on the membership.Sort by
  7. (Optional) If you'd only like to see certain membership transactions (for example, you may wan to eliminate any drop transactions from your reporting), you can choose to filter this on selected membership transactions: User-added image
  8. Click OK
  9. Next with Membership Transaction still highlighted in Selected fields, drag "Expiration Date" to selected fields.
  10. If you'd like to also see the levels associated with the transactions, expand Membership Transaction in the left, highlight Membership Level and drag Name to Selected Fields.
  11. Add any additional fields you'd like to see to Selected Fields
  12. On the Column Order Tab, set how you'd like the columns to appear.
  13. On the Set order for rows tab, set how you'd like Altru to sort the data.
  14. On the Set Save Options Tab, name your export definition and click Save and close.
Step 3: Create your Export Process
The last step in your process is to create the export. The export process will export the data you specified in your export definition for the records in your selection.
  1. Go to Administration > Export
  2. Click Add to add a new export process
  3. Name your export and add a description if needed
  4. Under Type, select Export Definition.
  5. Under Selection, choose your selection from Step 1
  6. Under Export Definition, choose your export definition from Step 2
  7. Click Save
  8. To get the data, click Start Process and download your results.
