Error:String or Binary data would be truncated- When committing a Direct Marketing Effort Batch

When using an CSV file to start an import process to commit a Direct Marketing Effort Batch and after committing the batch you get exceptions with the Error: String or Binary would be truncated.

  • Open the CSV file, look for any long strings in any of the fields(i.e List Name, Package Name).
  • If any of the rows in that field seem long try editing the map fields of the import process without the fields that have the long strings,
  • After committing the batch you should not receive any exceptions with the error.
