When we run the AddressFinder (NCOA) service, the addresses in eTapestry are checked against the National Change of Address (NCOA) databases. If the service finds a match between an address in the database, the service will standardize the address in eTapestry so that it meets Post Office Standards. In the event that the service finds a new address for the account name (this would happen if the person reported a change of address to the Post Office), it will also update the address on the account's Personas page in eTapestry.
When an address is standardized or updated, the NCOA updates the address in eTapestry. However, it also saves the old address in a Note on the account's Journal page. This way, we retain a record of what the address was prior to the NCOA. The steps to access this note are listed below:
