The reason for these "missing" windows is primarily due to users moving from one workstation with a large monitor to another workstation with a smaller monitor. GIFTS stores the location of the windows on the screen as coordinates on a grid - therefore, if that location on the large monitor was at the edge of the screen, the same window may not be visible on a workstation with a smaller monitor.

To correct this, the window must be moved to within the confines of the smaller monitor. On a Windows 7 workstation, the easiest method to do this is to take the following steps:

1. At the same time, hold the Shift key and Right-click the mouse on the program in the toolbar.
2. From the menu that appears, select "Move".
3. Once you have done so, the cursor should change shape to a four-pointed arrow > Use the arrow keys to move the window back into the visible area of the monitor.
