The following process outlines some starting steps to make a user inactive in The Raiser's Edge to preserve their work. This can be handy if key users are no longer with your organization and access is still needed to their Raiser's Edge work. (NOTE: This only applies to The Raiser's Edge user name. For security tips in other Blackbaud products, please refer to What should I do when an employee / user is no longer with my organization?)
  1. Go to Admin and select Security
  2. Double click on the user's name to open its details
  3. In the User name field, add zzz or xxx before the name (This is to group the inactive users towards the bottom of the listed Users)
  4. Under Group Assignments, select Selected group rights
  5. Under Member of, click << to remove any listed groups if present
  6. Under Connection Options, mark RE7 Authentication and enter a new password
  7. Also under Connection Options, unmark Windows Authentication
  8. Click Save and Close
