Error: The credit card payment could not be processed when testing credit cards

When trying to test credit card payments in CRM, you might encounter the error "The credit card payment could not be processed."
First, make sure that the Blackbaud Payment Services credentials are correct. A Knowledgebase article on this can be found with the following link: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/54273

If the issue persists, try processing the credit card through merchant account set to Demo mode.
