If Blackbaud does not host your Raiser's Edge system, please complete the following steps (You may require assistance from your IT Group):
  1. On all affected workstations, open File Explorer
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\ directory
    • The AppData folder may be a hidden folder, so you may need to manually key in the path
  3. Locate and copy the file called mrtkca.ini to C:\Windows if not already present
    • Ensure all end users have 'write' access to this file <--- THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL
  4. Right click the file, mrtkca.ini and choose Edit
  5. Only under the heading [Canada Settings] look for the entries called DatafilePath and SortDatafilePath
  6. The entry should take the following form:
    • DatafilePath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\Postal Tools\
    • SortDatafilePath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\Postal Tools\
    • Replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\Postal Tools\ with the location of the data files (ie. The location set in The Raiser's Edge under Tools > User Options > File locations)
  7. The [Canada Settings] section of the mrtkca.ini should resemble following after the change (if a change was required):
    User-added image
  8. Save the file and exit notepad.
  9. Use remote desktop to login to the server that houses the AddressAccelerator data files
  10. Browse to the path location of the AddressAccelerator data files
  11. Inside the folder for the AddressAccelerator data files, create a new folder called "AABACKUP"
  12. Find and select all files that have the form rcodeN.fsc, scodeN.fsc, scodeN.fsu.  Where N is a number 1 - 7, including the base rcode.fsc, scode.fsc, and scode.fsu
  13. Right click the selection and choose "cut"
  14. Double click on the folder "AABACKUP" which you created in step 11.
  15. Right click inside this folder and choose "paste"
  16. Find and Right click the aaca_FebMar.exe installer and choose "Run As Administrator"
  17. Choose the option to remove the AddressAccelerator data files
  18. Allow the uninstall to complete
  19. Again, Right click the aaca_FebMar.exe installer and choose "Run As Administrator"
  20. Allow the installer to complete, choosing all defaults.
  21. Proceed to a workstation and test AddressAccelerator as normal.
    • NOTE: The first validation after this fix will take anywhere from 1 to 6 minutes to complete.  Allow this to complete uninterrupted.  All subsequent validations will return to normal
If the above steps do not work in an non Blackbaud hosted environment, download and copy the attached Datafile.dat to the AddressAccelerator file location (ie. the location set in The Raiser's Edge under Tools > User Options > File locations)

We are currently evaluating issues where the above steps don't resolve the problem and will update this article when we have more information.
