Error: Data could not be saved. Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'VALIDATIONMESSAGE', table 'SMP_EC_40_14.dbo.BATCHCONSTITUENTUPDATEADDRESSES'; column does not allow nulls. UPDATE fails.

An error occurs when users attempt to validate addresses within Constituent Update Batch.
Download and install the latest Service Pack which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.  
 

Steps to Duplicate

  1.  Go to Batch Entry
  2. Add a new Constituent update Batch
  3. In the first row enter
  4. Last Name and First Name
  5. Under Addresses Enter
  6. Country: United States
  7. Address Type: Home
  8. Address: Your address but intentionally leave out a space or insert a typo
  9. Enter your city, state, and zip
  10. Click out of addresses fields
  11. Save batch
  12. Select Validate all addresses (All Rows)
  13. An error will appear that states the Address Validation: Street Name Invalid
  14.  Click on this error
  15. Correct the address so that it is correct
  16. Click Validate
  17. Receive error
