Why do my Activity Search filters change when when I go to the next page?

After performing a search in GIFTS Alta and selecting several of the results, opening one of them, opens the request view window and from here you can click previous or next to look at the next request. If I click "Activities" under the Related section on the lower left hand side of the screen I can see a few filters but when I set them and and click next to see the next request records filtered activities, the filters reset and I have to do it again. How do I make sure those filters stay the same for every request record I click through?
This is a result of User Preferences that have not been set:
  1. Click the drop down menu next to the Reports tab 
  2. Select the Preferences menu
  3. Next to "Search results refresh" select the option for Data and not Selection
  4. Click OK
  5. Perform a wildcard search
  6. Select multiple records (using the check boxes on the left hand side)
  7. Double click on any of those records
  8. Click on Activities under the Related section on the lower left hand side of the screen
  9. Change the filters and the results will change
  10. Hit Save and Close
  11. Perform steps 7 and 8 again
  12. Hit next and those filters should should apply to the next request record

Steps to Duplicate

1. Open GIFTS Alta.
2. Perform a wildcard search
3. Select five records (using the check boxes on the left hand side)
4. Double click on any of those records and notice at the bottom it will say "1/5"
5. Click on Activities under the Related section on the lower left hand side of the screen
6. Change the filters and the results will change, then hit next and those filters should reset
