Users may find that they wish to globally mark phones as Active in the Raiser's Edge. This allows all phones on the phone grid to appear without marking the Show Inactive Phones and Emails checkbox.
Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates with multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup article.
1. Create a constituent query of all constituents with an inactive phone or email. 2. Go to Admin>Import. 3. Highlight Constituent>Constituent Phone. 4. Click New. 5. On the General tab, under What do you want to do?, mark Create Import File. 6. Under Options, select Include>Selected Records. 7. Search to include the query saved in Step 1. Highlight the query and click Open. 8. Under What file do you wish to create?, browse to a location to save the output file. Change the file type to a text file. End your file name with .csv to save the file in excel. 9. On the Fields tab, under Available Fields, select the following: a. Constituent Import ID b. Is Inactive c. Phone Import ID. d. Phone Number e. Phone Type 10. Click Create Now. 11. Browse to the location set in Step 8 and open the .csv file. 12. Sort the Excel file by the Is Inactive column. 13. In the Is Inactive column, enter the value FALSE for all phone types that are to be marked as Active. 14. Save and close the .csv file. 15. Import the file using a Constituent>Constituent Phone import. On the General tab, under What do you want to do?, choose Update existing records.
