When setting up Reviews, there are two pieces - the Stage and the Form. The Review Stage is the first step and it is where single vs. sequential is set and where required feedback fields are established. The Review Form is where fields are added and/or removed to give the Review the look and feel that works best for your foundation. It can remain Inactive if you are still working on editing it for use on your GIFTS Online site. On occasion, when working within these inactive Forms, you will be prompted to add Feedback Fields marked on the Review Stage despite the form being inactive.
What you must bear in mind is that the priority does not lie with Active or Inactive, but rather which Stage the Form is assigned to. For example, if a Review Form is assigned to All Review Stages, any new Review Stage built that is marked with required Feedback fields will prompt users to ensure the corresponding Feedback fields are available on the Review Form.
Even if the Form is Inactive, it will still require these fields, so that no issues are experienced if/when the Form becomes Active. If a Review Form is created, then assigned only to a specific Review Stage, then the Form will only depend on the settings of that unique Review Stage.
Currently, to lighten the restriction on this relationship between Review Stage and Review Form, we have submitted an Idea to our Product Developers and would suggest that you vote on the Idea below after registering for our Community page at https://blackbaud.community.com:
