If you use Blackbaud Merchant Services (BBMS), eTapestry automatically generates a reversal for direct debits that decline within seven days. If the decline happens after the seven day window or if it comes back as a direct debit return, the reversal will need to be entered manually:
  1. Click Accounts
  2. Click Find an Account
  3. Enter the name of the person in question
  4. Click Find
  5. Click on the Account name
  6. Click on the blue Journal link in the header of the account
  7. Click on the EFT transaction that needs to be finalized and then reversed
  8. Click the checkbox beside Final
  9. Click on the drop down at the bottom beside Search and choose Edit
  10. Click Save and
  11. Click Reverse at the bottom
  12. Enter any notes as to why the transaction is being reversed
  13. Click Reverse
If you use any other transaction processor, you will also need to follow the steps above to manually reverse the failed transaction.
