How to install and run the Store BBMS Bank Information plug-in?

When receiving an error "The specified bank could not be found. The bank has either been deleted or you do not have rights to view it" it is possible that the 9 digit routing numbers listed on the gifts in the Raiser's Edge batch are not coming across fully to BBMS. If you are getting this error please review Error: The specified bank could not be found. The bank has either been deleted or you do not have rights to view it when processing direct debits through BBMS prior to running this plug-in. 

Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup solution.

  • Blackbaud recommends running this plug-in prior to creating and submitting the EFT transmission in Batch
  • The Store BBMS Bank Information plug-in inserts the 9th digit that was missing from the routing number on direct debit gifts saved in the specified Batch
  • Once the plug-in is run on the specified batch, users can go back to the batch module and create the EFT transmission file as normal without encountering this error
  • Client must have BBPS/BBMS account information inside of RE.
  • This issue only happens for direct debit transactions that use bank information entered into the database prior to 7.93.5782, patch 10
  • The RE7 database must be on version 7.93.5782, patch 11
  • Valid BBPS/BBMS account information must be stored in the database
  • User must have rights to edit personal information in Security in order to see this plug-in once it has been installed

    Prior to running the plug-in, be sure to wait and allow any authorization/rejection codes to populate. It's possible that some donations in the Batch processed successfully while others did not and prompted the error to appear. Once the rejections have populated and identified which direct debit donations were causing this issue, place these donations into a new Batch and proceed with the steps below (if Hosted, skip to Step 8)
    1. Log in to the workstation as a local administrator.
    2. Download the Store BBMS Bank Information plug-in for The Raiser's Edge 7.93.5782, patch 11

  • Save StoreBBMSbankinfo.exe to the local hard drive of any workstation with The Raiser's Edge installed.
  • Double-click StoreBBMSbankinfo.exe.
  • When prompted, unzip the files into the Plugins folder on the workstation. (The default path is C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\Plugins for 32-bit machines and C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\The Raisers Edge 7\Plugins for 64-bit machines) The EXE file is a self-extracting zip file which contains dobTokenizeBanks.vbd and TokenizeBanks.dll.
  • Register TokenizeBanks.dll on the workstation.
  • Have all other users exit and sign out of The Raiser's Edge.
  • Log into The Raiser's Edge.
  • Click Plug-Ins from the navigation bar. The Plug-Ins screen appears.
  • Click the Store BBMS Bank Information plug-in.
  • The plug-in appears. In the Batch search window, search for and select the saved batch that contains the direct debit information.
  • Click Begin to run the plug-in.
  • Go back to the Batch module and open the saved batch and attempt to submit the EFT file again.
