To set up the smart field:
  1. Go to Administration > Smart Fields
  2. Click Add to add a new smart field.
  3. Add a Constituent Revenue Application smart field
  4. On the General Tab, name your Smart field, Select the Source view of Application and add a description if you would like.
  5. On the Parameters Tab:
    1. Under Value to Return, select Latest Application for the last gift or select First Gift Amount for the First Gift.
    2. If you're looking for a true First Gift/Last Gift, we recommend leaving the date parameters blank, so you include all giving.
    3. Under Revenue types, check the revenue types you'd like to consider in this smart field.
    4. Under Transaction Types/Applications, check the applications you'd like to consider in this smart field
    5. Under Application Selection select the Magnifying glass to search for or add  an application selection, You will specify any designations you'd like the smart field to include. Note: If you specify a designation here, the smart field will only consider revenue with designations.  
  6. Save you Smart Field
Process Smart Field Results:
  1. Once your Smart field is saved, find it from the list of Smart Fields in your database and click the hyperlinked name.
  2. In the top left hand corner under Tasks, click Start Process. Note: You can also set your smart field on a job schedule to process automatically by going to the Job schedules tab.
  3. Once the Smart Field is processed, you are ready to add it to your query. 
 Add Smart Field Value to your query:
  1. Go to Analysis > Information Library
  2. Click Add a new ad-hoc query with a record type of Constituents.
  3. In Browse for fields in, click the Smart Fields folder
  4. In the middle column, double click your smart field
  5. On the left select Application Selection
  6. In the middle select designation name, and move to Results fields to display
