Scheduled queue not completing when exporting

When scheduled queues start processing but begin to hang, the Processes tab of Task Manager will show winword.exe

This is resolved in Raiser's Edge 7.96 patch 2, applied to databases in Blackbaud Hosting Services in January 2017 and planned for download availability in February 2017. For further updates on releases as they become available, please see our Community Release page.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Login as Supervisor
  2. Go to Admin > Queue
  3. Confirm Queue service is installed
  4. Double click Constituent Management to open queue
  5. On the Queue tab, for each item in the queue, update the File Name to network path available for testing
  6. On the Processing tab:
    • Frequency: Hourly
    • Run as: REQueue
    • Run on: <All Machines>
    • Set time for a few minutes in the future
  7. On the Miscellaneous tab, unmark the option: Send a queue status notification if checked
  8. Click Save and Close
  9. Click Show Schdeuled Queues at the top of the Admin> Queue screen (remove any other scheduled queues besides this test)
  10. Open Task Manager, click on the Processes tab
    • Any Export to Excel/CSV will attempt to use MS Word and queue will be stuck until WINWORD.EXE process is manually ended.
    • 100% CPU is used and queue cannot complete without manually ending winword processes for each export listed in the queue
