When processing address updates via Online Express transactions users are given a couple options to handle these new addresses. This article outlines the differences between these two options.
Update the preferred address with the downloaded information: Choosing this option overwrites the existing Preferred Address. It does not save the existing Preferred Address as an alternate or former address but does update the address on any linked records when the "Update Shared Address? This preferred address is currently shared" checkbox is marked.
Add the downloaded information as a new address for this constituent: Choosing this option adds the new address to the constituent record. Users can choose to mark this as the new Preferred Address and save the existing Preferred Address as an alternate or former address. This option does not update any linked records. It will only add the address to the donor's record.
