Error: RE7 has stopped working - when adding tributes gifts for a non-honor/memorial constituent

Users may notice that Raiser's Edge has stopped working when linking a Tribute Gift to a Constituent who is not marked as an Honor/Memorial. This can occur when adding Gifts in Records or in a Gift Batch. 
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. In the meantime, follow these steps: 
  1. Create a new Gift Batch
  2. On the data entry screen, add a new Gift for a Constituent
  3. Select Gift > Tribute
  4. Select New Tribute
  5. In the Honor/memorial field, click the binoculars
  6. Unmark the box that states "Constituent is an Honor/Memorial"
  7. Type in the first and last name of an existing Constituent who is not marked as a Hon/Mem
  8. Select the Constituent Name
  9. When prompted to mark the Constituent as an Honor/Memorial, select Yes
  10. Enter the Tribute information
  11. Save and Close the Tribute information

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Create a new Gift Batch
  2. On the data entry screen, add a new Gift for a Constituent
  3. Select Gift > Tribute
  4. Select New Tribute
  5. In the Honor/memorial field, click the binoculars
  6. Select Add New > Individual
  7. Type in the first and last name of an existing Constituent who is not marked as a Honor/Memorial
  8. Select the Honor/Memorial tab
  9. Select New Tribute
  10. On the prompt to save the new Constituent select Yes
  11. When the duplicate Constituent appears, select use selected record
  12. Enter the Tribute information
  13. Save and Close the Tribute information
  14. Receive error
