When you run the Credit Card Updater process, three things happen:

1. Any credit cards that have already been registered by Credit Card Updater are updated with new credit card information, such as a new expiration date.
2. Any new credit cards added to your database since the last Credit Card Updater run are registered so they can be checked for updates the following month when you run Credit Card Updater again.
3. Any credit cards that should not be used anymore, such as cards associated with completed pledges, are de-registered so they are not picked up the next time you run Credit Card Updater. Credit cards that may have been deleted from Raiser's Edge since the last time you ran the process are also de-registered.
