While there is not an Honor Gift data element available to email a gift recipient, it is possible to allow donors to send an email notification of a donation through the use of eCards. Create the eCard stationery that you would like donors to be able to send. When selecting which applications should be allowed to use this stationery, mark the checkbox for Donation eCards (Honor Cards) to ensure that this option is available when updating your form.

If you are creating a new form, you can choose the template called Honor Gift Donation Form with eCards.

If you are modifying an existing form, insert the eCard fields. These changes must be added to an unpublished donation form to avoid an error.
  1. Select Fundraising > Donation Management
  2. Click Manage next to the donation campaign
  3. Click Edit next to the donation form name
  4. Click Design Donor Screens
  5. Click Edit next to Donation Form
  6. In the box on the left named Select data elements to include in this form, find and click the eCards Fields
  7. In the box on the right named Arrange the order of the selected data elements, find and select the item which you would want the eCard information to appear below
  8. Click Add
  9. Click each eCard field and click Save Order and Edit Selected to review information
  10. Continue this process to add all eCard fields onto the donation form
  11. Click Save or Next to save your changes
Note: When formatting your selections, make sure to choose either the Honor Gift- Message Body or eCard Message field onto the form.  Including both fields on your form may result in an error.
