You may notice when attempting to copy categories in FAWeb from one semester to the next, the categories do not copy over, even though they have not been copied yet.
If you go to Gradebook > Edit Categories, it says "categories canot be created since this marking column is calculated for this class." This will occur when marking column weights were copied over before the categories and assignments were copied.
To correct, we will need to delete the marking column weight associated with the class so that we can copy over the categories.
Note: do not delete a marking column weight if you have already entered grades for that marking column, as this will erase any grades that were entered for that marking column.
1. Login as the affected teacher into FAWeb 2. Hover over gradebook and select Assign Marking column weights to classes 3. Here, you should see a column that has the class we cannot copy categories for under Class and the marking column average under Calculate marking column using. 4. Highlight this row by select the gray rectangle directly to the left of the marking column. 5. Select Delete. 6. Select Save in the top right hand corner. 7. Now go back to Gradebook > Copy categories/assignments 8.Copy over the categories for this class
