Note: Beginning with The Raiser's Edge version 7.82, AddressAccelerator must be unlocked before using it. The module needs to be unlocked only one time after updating The Raiser's Edge. AddressAccelerator requires two unlock codes: one for single validation and one for group validation in the Data Health Center. If your organization has not purchased the AddressAccelerator module, contact your account representative. If you have purchased it, generate the unlock code online using the Unlock Code Generator

Download AddressAccelerator for Canada:

  1. In the Downloads section of the website, click the AddressAccelerator for Canada link.
  2. Click the link for the exe file. The file name varies depending on the current month and the country.
  3. Select the "Save this program to disk" option and save it on your workstation.​​


Standalone Installation (or Update): 

The standalone installation installs the AddressAccelerator files on one workstation and is only accessible from that workstation.

  1. Right-click the click on the downloaded exe file downloaded from Blackbaud.com and choose Run As Administrator to unzip the folder to your desktop.
  2. On the InstallShield Wizard for AddressAccelerator Datafiles screen, click Next.
  3. On the Choose Destination Location screen, do one of the following:
    • Click Next to accept the default location (C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\Postal Tools).
    • Click Browse to browse to and select a different folder and click Next.  If you are not able to browse to your desired file location, you may install the files in a different location and copy them to the correct one after the installation completes.
  4. The software installs. Once complete, click Finish.
  5. Open the folder where the files were installed and right-click the Update.exe and choose Run As Administrator
  6. Reboot the workstation.
  7. Log into The Raiser's Edge and set the location to the AddressAccelerator files.
  8. Log in as a local administrator and validate an address to update the postal tools on the workstation.
    • Note: The first validation can take some time, but once the postal tools are updated a local administrator does not need to log in to validate addresses.

Network Installation (or Update):

The network installation installs the AddressAccelerator files on the network and can be accessed by multiple workstations.

Notes:

  • If you are using a terminal server, change the server mode to Installation Mode before the update and back to Execute Mode after the update has completed.
  • Do not validate addresses while installing the AddressAccelerator update. Otherwise, some AddressAccelerator data files may be in use and not updated.
Steps:
