When we create a custom report in eTapestry, we have two columns listed for recognition- Recognition Name and Recognition. These columns will pull different information into the report so we need to be conscious of choosing the correct option. We can store recognition information on either the Account Settings page or on a specific Journal Entry; we can include the recognition from either location in a report.
Recognition will show the donor's preference for how they'd like to be recognized. The possible names in this field include the Account Name, Anonymous, a custom name, or OMIT, which indicates that the donor prefers not to be recognized for their gift.
Recognition Name will only show a value for those donors whose recognition is set to a custom name. For example, if Mickey Mouse's recognition preference is set to Custom Name, the Recognition Name will display "The Mouse Family." However, if Mickey's recognition is set to Account Name, the Recognition Name field will be blank in the report because Mickey does not have a custom recognition.
