You are receiving this error due to anti-virus software such as Symantec, VIPRE, MSE or BitDefender falsely detecting the Financial Edge or Education Edge file as a trojan virus.  To resolve this issue, please complete the following in the order listed until your issue is resolved:
 
  1. Restore the mentioned file from Quarantine
  2. Update your  anti-virus software to the latest virus definition update currently available
  3. Launch The Financial Edge or Education Edge and log in

If the issue persists, then complete all of the following steps:
 
  1. Restore the affected file from Quarantine
  2. Create an exception for the affected file located in either C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge or C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge\AFN64 folder.
  3. Report your issue to the vendor of your anti-virus software
