When processing credit cards, your processor generates a token to symbolize the credit card number. This unique token is shared with eTapestry in case you're setting up an auto processing schedule. That way, the same card can be referenced and charged again without having to re-enter it each time a transaction is scheduled to process. This tokenization process allows for eTapestry to be Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant because we do not store or allow you to access the full card number. We only store the token, last four numbers on the card, and expiration date.
You are able to export, through a query or report, the "Credit/Debit Card Number" (only the last four on the card) and "Credit/Debit Card Expiration Date." However, the token is not an available field to export through eTapestry.
If you require the tokens for credit cards you have processed, our Professional Services offers a Mass Export data service which does include the credit/debit card token. If you're interested in purchasing this data service, please reach out to your account executive at email@example.com. To retrieve the full credit card numbers to match up to these tokens, please contact your credit card processor. Clients using Blackbaud Merchant Services can also include the request for an encrypted file of this data to their account executive.
