Nothing Happens When Clicking on User Defined Field. Unable to Enter Data

Within a constituent account, nothing happens when clicking on a User Defined Field and you are unable to select a value within that field. This can occur on the Persona page, Defined Fields page, or other locations on the account where custom fields are tracked.
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. In the meantime, follow these steps to adjust your affected fields:
  1. Click Management in the menu
  2. Click User Defined Fields
  3. Click on the category your field is stored under
  4. Click on the name of the field
  5. Within the field, click on the value that contains the '<' or '>' character
  6. In the Name field at the top, remove those characters
  7. Click Update
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 until all values with those characters have been adjusted
  9. Click Save And Finish

Steps to Duplicate

This is caused by an '<'  or '>'  special character in one of the values within the field. If an account has the value with that special character selected, the field will be locked on the account and you will be unable to edit it within that account.

For example, in the screenshot below you can see the account has the 'Volunteer<=Available' value selected:
Special Characters

Within this account, the Attributes field will be locked and cannot be edited.
  1. Search for open the account
  2. Go to the page of the account with the field in question (Defined Fields, Persona, etc...)
  3. Click on the field to try and expand it; nothing happens upon clicking on the field
