Prerequisites
Before you invite the user to your product, you need to:
  • Create or identify a second email address for the user who requires more than one account.
  • Have the user create a separate Blackbaud Single Sign-On account for each email address.
Invite existing users with multiple database view accounts to the web view
  1. From your product, select Control Panel, Security.
  2. Locate the user’s first database view user account and select Send invitation from their menu Users list menu  on the Users list.
  3. Enter the user’s first email address and then select Send invitation.
  4. Locate the user’s second database view user account and send an invitation to a unique second email address.

Note: Before accepting the invitation, have the user visit Blackbaud.com and ensure they are logged out.

  5. For each email invitation to the web view, the user needs to accept the invitation from the Blackbaud Single Sign-On account associated with the email address. After the first invitation is accepted, the user should log out and accept the second invitation only this time with the second Blackbaud Sign-On account.

Note: When you invite a user who already has an account in the database view, they automatically have the same security groups as in the database view.

Invite new users with needs for multiple logins
  1. From your product, select Control Panel, Security.
  2. Select Add user, enter the first email address to receive the invitation, choose the security groups to assign the user, and select Add user.

Note: When you invite a user who doesn't currently have an account in the database view, the product automatically creates the account. The user logs into their product and from Database view, selects Open database view. The user accesses the database view without logging in again because Blackbaud Single Sign-On is enabled.

  3. Add a new user again, but this time enter the second email address.
  4. For each email invitation, the user needs to accept the invitation from the Blackbaud Single Sign-On account associated with the email address. After the first invitation is accepted, the user should log out and accept the second invitation only this time with the second Blackbaud Sign-On account.

Optional alternative configuration
If you do not want or cannot create more than one email address per user account to use with Blackbaud Single Sign-On, you can optionally update the security privileges for the admin account in database view with all the rights needed to perform actions in both database and web view. Then, remove the other database user you no longer need. From web view, you locate the admin’s database view user account and send the invitation to web view.
