Export never completes when First Gift fields are included

When exporting multiple fields in Export module, exports which include First Gift fields hang/freeze after the export has begun.  The progress bar does not increase and the application moves in and out of a 'Not Responding' state.  The user needs to cancel the export to regain control of the workstation, meaning the export never completes.  The export appears to work after the First Gift fields are removed.
