Steps to Duplicate

In a sample Raiser's Edge and Raiser's Edge NXT web view:

1. Create four pledges and pay off as follows on different constituents in the Database view. For ease of testing, ensure all are assigned to the same solicitor/fundraiser that is set up in their own NXT Web view work center.

Testing scenario of $2000 pledge made 1/1/15 to be paid with four annual installments of $500 each. In each scenario, ensure transactions are the same date as the installment to ensure testing consistency.

A - Adjusting single installment
  • Enter $2000 pledge with date of 1/1/15 with a single installment dated of 1/1/15.
  • Adjust three times, each time reducing installment balance by $500 down and move up installment date to following year.
  • Leave a $500 balance dated 1/1/18

B - Write-offs on each installment
  • Enter $2000 pledge with date of 1/1/15 scheduling an annual frequency of four installments of $500 due 1/1 of each year.
  • Write off each installment. Manually edit the application of the write-off. Do not use the Auto-Distribution feature.
  • Leave only 1/1/18 remaining installment of $500 with $500 balance, but pledge amount is still $2000.

C - A pay-cash applied, even if $0
  • Enter $2000 pledge with date of 1/1/14 scheduling an annual frequency of four installments of $500 due 1/1 of each year.
  • Enter annual gift of 0.01 and applied to each installment.
  • Adjust each gift to $0 maintaining link to the pledge installment.
  • Adjust pledge installments then ensuring $0 pay-cash stayed applied each time (No Auto-distribute!)
  • Complete this for all four installments leaving a $0 balance.

D - Adjusting installments
  • Enter $2000 pledge with date of 1/1/15 scheduling an annual frequency of four installments of $500 due 1/1 of each year.
  • Adjusting pledge down by $500 each year. Be sure to manually edit the corresponding annual installment to $0. (No Auto-distribute!)
  • Pledge should have a $500 balance and an amount of $500. No payments or write-offs are applied to any of the installments.

2. Allow Raiser's Edge NXT to sync to refresh tags
3. View Work Center Portfolio list in Raiser's Edge NXT Web view to review the four constituents for each of the test scenarios. Test results should be:
A - No Past Due Pledge tag
B - No Past Due Pledge tag
C - No Past Due Pledge tag
D - Past Due Pledge tag present
