Emails are being sent to addresses on organisation relationships incorrectly

When using Blackbaud NetCommunity version 7.1, you may notice that emails sent using mass emails are being sent to the wrong email address. Inspecting further, the email is being sent to the email address located on the organisation relationship. This occurs when sending emails to a selected phone type in the NetCommunity message.
This issue was resolved in the latest version of Blackbaud NetCommunity. 

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Open record in The Raiser's Edge
  2. On the Bio1 tab -> Email Addresses, observe the email associated with the 'Email' phone type
  3. Go to the NetCommunity tab
  4. Observe that in the last few emails sent, it's been sent to the address not on on the Bio1 tab. This started happening around the 7.1 update.
  5. Go to the Relationships tab.
  6. Open the organisation relationship
  7. Go to Email Addresses, observe that the email noted in here is the one that BBNC is sending emails to. It has the same phone type as on the Bio1 tab of the constituent record.
  8. Create a constituent query to capture this one record
  9. Go to NetCommunity and open Email -> Lists and create a new list, linked to this constituent query
  10. Observe that the email the list pulls through is correct
  11. Go to Email -> Messages
  12. Create a new message with this constituent list, and send to the phone type of 'Email'
  13. When the email sends, look at the recipient of the email and note that the email it is picking up is the organisation relationship's email address
