We have two methods for entering the transactions, both of which are outlined below. 

Method 1- Enter two separate gifts
  1. Click Accounts
  2. Click Find an Account
  3. Search for and click on the donor' s name
  4. Click Journal
  5. Click Add
  6. Click Gift/Pledge
  7. Fill in the Received amount for the amount that will be credited to the participant or team
  8. Select the appropriate, Fund, Campaign, Approach, and Fundraiser from the drop down menus
  9. Select the appropriate payment option from the Gift Types heading and fill in any required fields for that Gift Type
  10. Click the Tribute, Soft Credit, Matching Gift Information heading
  11. Click the magnifying glass below the Soft Credit heading
  12. Search for and click on the name of the team or participant
  13. Fill in the amount of the Soft Credit
  14. Click Save and Go To Journal (if you are processing the donor's credit card, select Save and Process Transaction instead)
  15. Click Add
  16. Click Gift/Pledge
  17. Fill in the Received amount for the amount that will not be credited to the participant or team
  18. Select the appropriate Fund, Campaign, Approach, and Fundraiser from the drop down menus
  19. Select the appropriate payment option from the Gift Types heading and fill in any required fields for that Gift Type
  20. Click Save and Go to Journal (if you are processing the donor's credit card, select Save and Process Transaction instead)
Method 2- Enter the gift as a Split Transaction
Please note, you will only see the option for a Split Transaction if that module is currently enabled in your database. If you do not have the Split Transaction module and are interested in adding it, please contact your account representative at sales@etapestry.com.
  1. Click Accounts
  2. Click Find an Account
  3. Search for and click on the donor's name
  4. Click Journal
  5. Click Add
  6. Click Split Transaction
  7. Fill in the Date, Received Amount (this should be the full amount of the gift), and Number of Segments (since we're entering a donation amount to the Personal Fundraiser and a donation to the team/participant, we'll enter 2 in this field)
  8. Mark the checkbox that says One Gift Type
  9. Click Add Segments
  10. Below the heading that says Segment 1, fill in the Received amount for the amount that will be soft credited to the participant/team
  11. Select the appropriate Fund, Campaign, Approach, and Fundraiser from the drop down menus
  12. Select the appropriate payment option from the Gift Types heading and fill in any required fields for that Gift Type
  13. Click the Tribute, Soft Credit, Matching Gift Information heading
  14. Click the magnifying glass below the Soft Credit heading
  15. Search for and click on the name of the team or participant
  16. Fill in the amount of the Soft Credit
  17. Below the Segment 2 heading, fill in the Received amount for the amount of the donation that will not be credited to the team or participant
  18. Select the appropriate Fund, Campaign, Approach, and Fundraiser from the drop down menus
  19. Click Save and Go to Journal (if you are processing the donor's credit card, select Save and Process Transaction instead)
