Error: Data could not be saved. The UPDATE statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint "CK_SALESORDERITEMMEMBERSHIP_VALIDMEMBERSHIPTRANSACTIONS". The conflict occurred in database "XXX", table "dbo.SALESORDERITEMMEMBERSHIP". - when merging constituents

When trying to merge two constituent records in Altru with memberships in the same membership program, you may encounter the following error:

Data could not be saved. The UPDATE statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint "CK_SALESORDERITEMMEMBERSHIP_VALIDMEMBERSHIPTRANSACTIONS". The conflict occurred in database "XXX", table "dbo.SALESORDERITEMMEMBERSHIP".
The duplicate constituent records can not be merged if both memberships were purchased in the same sales order. However, you are able to merge the constituent records without the memberships merging by following these steps first:
  1. On the Memberships tab click the name of your membership program
  2. Select the General tab and click Edit
  3. Check "Allow multiple memberships" and Save
Once you process the merge, you will see that the remaining constituent record lists both memberships separately.

NOTE: Make sure that you go back and uncheck the option to "Allow multiple memberships" once the merge is complete.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In the Constituents tab, click Duplicates
  2. Click Merge Two Constituents
  3. Enter your source and target constituents
  4. Click Merge
  5. See the error
